UM

HellUM, HöldUM og BerUM eru nytjahlutir í vörulínunni UM. Þetta eru kaffikanna fyrir hæga uppáhellingu, bollar og tréplattar.

Allir hafa skoðun á kaffi og gæðum þess, það getur verið ánægjuleg athöfn að hella upp á og þegar ilmurinn fyllir vitin þá verður löngunin enn meiri. Kaffidrykkja er í hugum margra tengd ýmsum félagslegum viðburðum og veisluhöldum. Nú bætast nýjr hlutir í línuna UM uppáhellingarkanna, kaffibolli og tréplatti.

UM hönnunarlínan er verkefni sem listakonan Ingibjörg Ósk Þorvaldsdóttir hefur kynnt undir vörumerkinu inosk design. Fyrstu hlutirnir voru kynntir á hönnunarmars 2017.  Kveikjan að hönnuninni er hugmyndir um mannfagnað, veislu, ljós, mat,  yl og ilm. Sýningunni var vel tekið og nú er bætt við vörulínuna nýjum hlutum sem eru kynntir á hönnunarmars 2021. Þeir tengjast allir ánægjunni af því að bera fram og drekka kaffi með meðlæti.  Þeir eru uppáhellingarkannan HellUM, kaffibollinn HöldUM, og tréplattinn BerUM. 

Kveikjan að þessari hönnunarlínu er hugmyndin um kaffitímann, sem er samvera við kaffidrykkju, ef til vill með meðlæti. Kaffitímann hefur sárlega vantað hjá mörgum undanfarið ár. Kaffidrykkja er samofin menningu margra þjóða og kaffidrykkja er í hugum margra tengd ýmsum félagslegum viðburðum og veisluhöldum sem við bíðum eftir að komast í. Flestir hafa skoðun á kaffi og gæðum þess. Það getur verið ánægjuleg athöfn að hella upp á kaffi og þegar kaffiilmurinn fyllir vitin þá verður löngunin í kaffið enn meiri.

Kaffikannan HellUM hefur háls úr hnotu sem er til þess að einangra könnuna svo hægt sé að taka utan um hana heita. Bollarnir HöldUM eru ýmist með leir- eða viðarhandföngum. Það er mismunandi hvernig fólk heldur á bolla og þannig geta handföngin skapað skemmtilegt samtal og hver og einn getur haft sinn uppáhaldsbolla. Ef meðlæti er með kaffinu þá eru tréplattarnir BerUM kjörnir til þess að bera það fram á. 

Nýju hlutirnir fylgja sömu efnisnotkun og fyrri hlutir UM línunnar. Þeir eru gerðir úr leir og viði sem eru tengdir saman og mynda nytjahluti sem nota má í mannfagnaði. 

UM

Everyone has an opinion on coffee and its quality. It can be a delightful experience to prepare coffee. The drinking of coffee has a social significance and is a part of many gatherings and social functions. New items are added to the UM design line. They are a coffee pot, a cup and a serving plate. 

The UM product line is the creation of the artist Ingibjörg Ósk Þorvaldsdóttir, who presents her work under the artistic name of inosk design. The first items from the UM line of products were introduced at the DesignMarch2017. The focus of this product line is on feasting, celebration, light, food, warmth and aroma. The products were well received and the collection has now been expanded to include new items, which are presented at the DesignMarch 2021. The new items all relate to the delights of serving and drinking coffee, possibly with some pastries. They are called HellUM, HöldUM and BerUM and are described as follows: 

HellUM is a coffee pot for brewing coffee with the dripping method. The name refers to the act of pouring coffee from the pot. 

HöldUM is a coffee cup. The name refers to holding the cup. 

BerUM is a wooden plate for serving pastries or cakes.  The name refers to the function of the plate to carry the pastries. 

The inspiration for the coffee pot, the cup and the wooden plate is the social function that gathering for coffee drinking can have and which has been conspicuously absent in the past year. Drinking coffee is ingrained in the culture of many nations. Most people have an opinion on coffee and its quality. It can be a delightful exercise to brew coffee and the smell of the brew will further increase the yearning for the drink itself. The coffee pot HellUM has a square artifice made of walnut wood, which serves as a handle for the hot coffee pot. The HöldUM cups are provided with either clay- or wooden handles. Each individual has his own method of holding a cup. The different handles can be a conversation starter and every one will have his favourite cup. If pastries or cakes are served the BerUM plate is a fitting companion.  

As with the former items of the UM product line, the new additions are made from two contrasting materials, clay and wood, which are combined in a useful product, which is to be used in a social setting.
